Just a quick one from me today to wish you all a very Merry Christmas! I also thought I would share some pictures of the gorgeous gift I received from my grandparents recently: a selection of beautiful vintage Christmas baubles and decorations that adorned their own tree for many years. I always adored their Christmas tree, and these trinkets are filled with so many stories and happy memories of many Christmases past. Granda remembers the Santa topper being on their Christmas tree when he was a boy, and the wooden and thread decorations are war-era, when they stopped manufacturing the glass ones.

The glass baubles date from the 1950s and are my absolute favourite – the jewel colours are still amazingly vibrant and I love the unique patterns and the beautiful patina that comes with age. They’re a far cry from your standard decorations – their modern counterparts just can’t live up now! It’s possibly the best gift I’ve ever, ever been given. They are so delicate and fragile but I will treasure them forever. It’s so special that my grandparents have passed them on to me, and now these precious trinkets can nestle, pride of place on our tree.
