The vintage jumpsuit: perfect transseasonal piece and surprisingly versatile. Worn with sandals and a denim jacket as Summer slips into Autumn, as I have here, or with polo neck underneath, ankle boots and leather jacket as the temperature drops. Ideal for running errands in town or exploring walled gardens on weekend adventures.

This particular vintage jumpsuit is my pride and joy: it belonged to my Mum in the ’80s and is made from the softest cotton that has been worn and loved for years. I adore everything about it: from its voluminous hareem cut legs to the warm coloured stripe, metallic thread to its concealed buttons. It was from Debenhams and even came with a matching jacket – though I don’t think I’ll be wearing both together any time soon! This ensemble alone garnered enough funny looks, but I love it so wore my vintage jumpsuit with pride. I’ll be taking a wee break from outfit posting as I’m moving house this weekend – but there will still be weekly bakes and it means plenty of interior updates to look forward to!

What I’m wearing: vintage striped jumpsuit; vintage denim jacket; vintage basket and accessories; Clarks sandals (a sale bargain, though I can’t find them online now – sorry!).
