Earlier this year I collaborated with iconic interior design house Sanderson, known for their extensive archive of wallpaper-ready florals, to style their first collection with high street stalwarts Uniqlo. So when I heard they were launching a follow-up range, I did a wee jig; longtime followers will know how much I adore Autumn as a season and Autumn/Winter dressing is always my preference, so the prospect of jewel hues, statement florals and beautiful fabrics was a real treat. Without further fangirling, here’s the first of two outfits I’ve put together from the collection (while coveting every single piece):
For my first look, I picked this beautiful Winter floral skater-style dress. Of course, the print drew my eye straight away – I mean it has hydrangeas for goodness sake! – along with a palette made up of Rosie colours: navy, pink, purple and green. The dark background makes it perfect for this time of year, while the jewel bright florals keep it modern and fresh. The feminine cut skims the silhouette in buttersoft jersey and the round neck and slightly lower back are both incredibly flattering. There’s lovely movement in the skirt too, ideal for twirling outside pastel houses. And it even has a built-in bra for extra support! Best of all, it’s incredibly versatile – worn here with a vintage Aran cardigan and boots, it looks totally different with a smart tweed blazer and brogues for work. My kind of wardrobe hard-worker! I’ve now got my eye on all the other patterns, especially this navy jacquard-style number… What are you coveting from the new collection? Tune in next week to see the second look I’ve styled for UniqloxSanderson.
