#myodetoautumn Week Five (and a new Winter Hashtag)

Forget my ‘Winter is coming’ prompt last week – all of a sudden it feels as though Winter is upon us, golden and russet leaves suspended in time by the frost, sliding my way to work and the days creeping ever-shorter. I’ve loved seeing the #myodetoautumn hashtag evolve as Autumn meets Winter: changing colours, textures and compositions.

The tag has made me slow down and take notice of the littlest things all around, from the shifting light to the changing natural surroundings. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it and the challenge in the fading daylight has made me get more creative with my photography. I hope you’ve enjoyed it too and a huge thanks again if you’ve joined in. I’ve loved it so much that I’m starting a new Winter tag for all your seasonal stories – #my_wintertale. Winter is long (especially in Scotland), but this year I’m determined to make the most of it and celebrate all the cosy, lovely things about the season (and not just Christmas!) by sharing our stories together. Plus The Winter’s Tale is my favourite Shakespeare play and I can never resist a literary reference, as you know from #myodetoautumn.

I won’t do an A-Z this time (well, never say never!), but I’d still like to share some favourite images from the tag now and again! I do hope you’ll join in again, and now I’ll leave you with some last #myodetoautumn faves – links, as ever, below.
