Happy Easter weekend everyone! Hope you’ve got something nice planned – if you’re in Edinburgh and looking for somewhere special to eat out then take a peep at my last post about the amazing Aizle Edinburgh. I’ve got a weekend of baking, crafting and family time ahead – be sure to look out for a special Easter-themed Rosie Makes tomorrow too. In the meantime I thought I’d share some pictures of my Easter-themed tea party table set-up, which has thoroughly got me into the spirit of all things Spring and will soon house all my Easter bakes!
My Osterlamm, which was a very generous gift from Falko Konditormeister in Bruntsfield, makes for a fab centrepiece. The traditional German Easter cake is made from beautiful madeira sponge and cooked in a special lamb-shaped mould (need to get me one of them!). It makes for a pretty impressive seasonal feature, don’t you think? I’m building up the courage to cut into it, as it’s just too cute! It smells heavenly though and I can’t wait to try it. If you would like your own, get to Falko pronto as they’ve been selling out repeatedly all week!
There are also a few recent (and not so recent) thrifty finds here too, including the Osterlamm’s vintage plate (as if it was made for it!), the wee jug and heart-shaped Royal Albert bowl – perfect for storing those eggs, though I’m sure they won’t be around for long! Some favourite pieces from Cath Kidston and Emma Bridgewater feature too, alongside some Easter-themed nick-nacks from one of my favourite designers, Gisela Graham. I just couldn’t resist the wooden bunny garland and pastel hens, which I got from the cuttest card shop called Everyone’s Designs on Bruntsfield Place. I got the retro-style wee fluffy chicks there too!
I hope you all have a lovely, chocolate-filled Easter weekend!
